PUNE CHAPTER
Established on
21st November 1970, the Pune chapter of Indian Institution
of Industrial Engineering is one of the most active
and leading chapter among the 24 Chapters of IIIE
all over the country, & recently it has celebrated
30 yrs. (Three decades) on 27th Jan. 2002.
It has over 500 professional and practicing Industrial
Engineers as its members and 22 leading organizations
as Institutional members, It also has 24 Fellow
Members (Awardees) of Institution, who has done
significant contribution to the institution and
IE - philosophy.
Pune Chapter was the first and only of IIIE
to have its own office (AT SHRADDHA, Near Dandekar
Bridge, Parvati, Pune - 411030). This was acquired
through the tireless effort of many active members
and was formally inaugurated 19th December 1986.
it also has sub chapter at VIT. Pune established
in April 1996.
The office premises are used for : -
Seminar, Workshop and programmes on latest
concepts and techniques for improving productivity
& Quality, resource utilization etc.
Regular tea-meeting in which eminent speakers
are invited to share their experience, knowledge
and views on various IE related topics.
Regular meeting of chapter council and even
National council.
The Institution has a Good IT infrastructure
which is put to effective use in all the activities
of the Institution.
The Institution also has an Technical library
with latest books. Magazines and Journals on
Industrial Engineering, Production Technology
and other Management subjects. It also provides
for a reading and study room for Industrial
Engineering and Management Students along with
project guidance.
